Effects of Link Arrangements
on Search Efficiency
APPENDICES
Subjective Satisfaction Questionnaire - Participant Comments:
- Long list of links is time consuming to
look through - subdivisions with headers to group links
would be improvement. (USNA1)
- Items in column weren't alphabetized or in
any format which made it harder to find the task. (USNA1)
- Could use markers to differentiate
divisions/departments. (USNA2)
- Links fairly easy to read. Could be better
organized alphabetically. (USNA2)
- Long names on right and short names on
left, grouped by division. (USNA2)
- Closeness of the rows made it somewhat
hard to read. Not having them completely in alpha order
also made it hard to follow. (USNA2)
- The order of the links is hard to figure
out and the spacing between rows and columns made it
difficult to find. (USNA2)
- Arrangement was good, but the rows were
too close together. (USNA3)
- For searching through so many words, a
little more space between rows would made it easier to
read. (USNA3)
- I had a three-column separation and the
best part is having all the choices fit into one screen
view. (USNA3)
- Alphabetize or organize columns. (USNA3)
- Easy to follow. (USNA4)
- Why not alphabetize? (USNA4)
- Why not alphabetize by general subject?
(USNA4)
- It would be easier to search the list if
it was alphabetized. (USNA4)
- 2.1 and 2.2 I like the list to be
alphabetized as it is now. (USNA4)
- Very hard to search; alphabetical order
would be improvement. (USNA5)
- Should be in alphabetical order or
categories. (USNA5)
- Format is not decipherable - hard to find
stuff. (USNA5)
- The vertical columns and rows are a better
idea than the current jumble on the current web page.
However, there needs to be separation between areas or
departments. (USNA5)
- Though the links weren't organized or
alphabetized, it was quick and relatively easy. (USNA6)
- There is such a long list of information
to read, it seems somewhat overwhelming at first glance.
Links could be grouped - departments, math, ocean, etc. I
know finding the last one was easy for me because I saw
it while looking for the first one an d could recall
where. (USNA6)
