SHORE 2001 : Web : Searching for Airline Tickets: A Comparison of Tabular and Graphical Presentations

Results

In this experiment, we observed statistically significant difference in the performance time of most of the complex tasks and one simple task. However, there is no significant difference for the subjective preferences. The raw data can be found in the appendices

3.4 t-test

  • Let N1 be the number of subjects for Flight-Line
  • Let N2 be the number of subjects for Fare-Finder
  • N1 = N2 = 10
  • Significance level = 0.05
  • t(0.025;18) = 2.101
  • Null hypothesis: the mean are equal.
