3.2 Hypothesis Tests
The hypothesis tests that we ran all had
the same common elements
- The null hypothesis H0 is that the
population mean is the same for each treatment (m 1=m 2=m
3)
- One way ANOVA was run for 30
subjects and 3 treatments. This means that there are 2
between group degrees of freedom and 27 within group
degrees of freedom.
- The critical F value to reject H0
at the 0.05 significance level is F(2,27) = 3.35
The results of the ANOVA runs are shown
below. None of them are statistically significant.

The total time to complete task was
analyzed both with and without the correction for delays
introduced by the treatment variable.
