C.1 Raw Data
This section present the raw data collected during the sessions with the subjects. The data is summarized in three tables, one for each treament (0 delay, 0.250 s delay, and 0.500s delay). All timing information is given in seconds, unless otherwise specified.
Each row corresponds to one subject for the given treament. Column Q1 to Q10 (see section Procedures and Problems) represent the time to answer the question, and #hplnks column represents the number of traversed hyperlink to complete the experiment.

Raw Data for "Recall Question" in the Post-Experiment Survey
The table bellow shows the recall points earned by each subjects. Subjects 1 to 10 performed Treatment 1, subjects 11-20 performed Treatment 2, and subjects 21 to 30 performed Treatment 3.
The number of points is assigned as follows:
This gives a potential scale of values from -4 to 4, although in our trials there were no negative values observed.

The two tables below correspond two the first two questions on the Pad++ software. These questions were answered by all the subjects. The full text of the questions can be found on the post experiment survey form. On both of these questions, 9 is the highest rating and 1 the lowest. The cells contain the number of subjects with each rating. In some cases subjects didnt answer or circled N/A to indicate that they didnt know enough to answer the question.
Q1. Is Pad++ easier to use than other browsers?
| TRT | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| 1 - 0.00 s | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 - 0.25 s | 2 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 3 - 0.50 s | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 7 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Q2. Is Pad++ better technology than existing browsers?
| TRT | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| 1 - 0.00 s | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2 - 0.25 s | 1 | 0 | 4 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| 3 - 0.50 s | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 7 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 |
This final table rates the zooming feature of Pad++ on a 1 to 9 scale from very annoying to very pleasant to use. Again, the exact text for all the options can be found in Appendix B on the post experiment survey. Since only treatments 2 & 3 use the smooth animation of zooming, these questions were not asked of subjects who used treatment #1.
| TRT | 9 | 8 | 7 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 |
| 2 - 0.25 s | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
