Wimba Classroom

Wimba Classroom is a real-time virtual classroom environment designed for distance education and collaboration. Faculty can now create fully-featured live virtual classrooms in ELMS to hold office hours, guest lectures and meetings in their ELMS course spaces (requesting an ELMS course space if you don't already have one.)

The features of Wimba Classroom include two-way audio and video, application sharing, MP4/MP3 downloads of room archives, support for Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox 3.0/3.5, and whiteboarding, etc...

Getting Started With Wimba Classroom

1. Assess your computer

2. Purchase a headset with microphone if you don't have one.

  • You can purchase either a standard or USB headset. Wimba recommends Logitech or Plantronic brands. 

3. Attend Wimba Training Workshops



Run the setup wizard  to make sure that your computer is ready to use the Live Classroom
