Annual Graduate Student Review

Applications for fall graduate admissions are due by December 15

Associate Professor Sheri L. Parks and Assistant Professor Psyche Williams-Forson are the Co-Directors of Graduate Studies.

Online applications are available from The Graduate School

Once a year toward the end of the spring semester, the Department meets to review the progress of every student in the Department.  To prepare for the review, students meet with their advisors and then submit revised worksheets recording their progress on program requirements, and fill out a form describing their achievements during the past year, their plans for the next, and any issues or problems they wish to bring to the attention of the faculty.  Students also submit an updated Curriculum Vitae.  The faculty reviews every file systematically and makes comments or recommendations regarding each student's progress toward the degree.  These are communicated in the form of an advising appointment and/or a letter from the student’s program advisor.  Students are encouraged to make appointments with their advisors to follow-up on any needed items or issues raised during the review.

Note: M.A. and Ph.D. worksheets are available online and accessible via the menu bar on the left-hand side of this page.
