in New York, this publication is more 'mainstream' than scholarly in tone,
and assumes the audience to be the general public. Articles include film,
video, laserdisc, and equipment reviews. One welcome feature is a column that
regularly comments on film music, as well as offering film soundtrack reviews.
Interviews with actors and directors are featured occasionally as well.

- Covers popular film and television in the broadest sense. "Concentration
is upon commercial cinema and TV: stars, directors, producers, studios, networks,
genres, series, the audience, etc. Articles on film and TV theory are invited,
as well as interviews, filmographies, and bibliographies." Recent topics
treated include Oliver Stone's "JFK," beach party movies, "America's
Funniest Home Videos," English classics for Cold War America, and television
movies and the first decade of AIDS. Occasional "Special Issues".
