Classroom Walls that Talk: Using Learning Analytics to Raise Awareness of Under Performing Students

In this talk, John Fritz will explore if and how technology can facilitate self-awareness to support student success. In order to raise awareness of under performing students, UMBC has built the “Check My Activity” (CMA) feedback tool that lets students compare their own activity with an anonymous summary of course peers earning the same, higher or lower grade for any assignment—if instructors post grades online.
