Over the course of the current fall semester, 67 faculty have been participating in a Canvas pilot program. This discussion will allow you to hear from two faculty members on their experiences in the new system. Dr. Lyra Hilliard from the Department of English and Dr. Stephen Roth from the Department of Kinesiology will be available to answer questions and share best practices and considerations when making the transition.

This is a great opportunity for instructors to bring their ideas and questions to an open forum where we can discuss and learn from each other.

Classroom Collaboration with Google

This month Google renamed its famous tool suite Google Docs to Google Drive. Don’t be alarmed; all of the same features and capabilities are still around, including new functionality as well! Professors Steve Mount from the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics and Scott Moses from the Department of English will be sharing their experiences along with some examples from their work with the formerly known Google Docs and Apps.

Join this interactive session with Ronald Yaros (faculty, College of Journalism) to learn how he integrates Twitter with assignments and the course blogs in his I-Series and blended courses. He will review the basics for faculty who are new to Twitter and share strategies for using Twitter for student engagement and collaboration. .
