In this workshop, we will explore the Mahara ePorfolio as an example space, primarily using examples from science, math and nursing. Participants will create their own profiles, content and portfolios. They will participate in an ePortfolio group and publish to a common site. In this talk, John Fritz will explore if and how technology can facilitate self-awareness to support student success. In order to raise awareness of under performing students, UMBC has built the “Check My Activity” (CMA) feedback tool that lets students compare their own activity with an anonymous summary of course peers earning the same, higher or lower grade for any assignment—if instructors post grades online.
