The steps for using WebDrive to connect to the Streaming Media and podcast.umd.edu servers are virtually the same.

Stepping Through the WebDrive Wizard:

  1. Launch the WebDrive client on your local computer. You will work through the steps presented in the WebDrive Site Wizard.
  2. Click on the New Site button; type "streaming" (or "podcasting") in the "Enter the name for the site you will be connecting to" field.
  3. Select an available Drive, such as E:, on your local computer.
  4. Choose "WebDAV" for the Server type from the drop down menu, then click Next.
  5. Type the URL provided to you by the media administrator (e.g., https://dav.webhosting.umd.edu/streamingmedia/academic/ your folder) into the "Enter the URL for the Server" box in order to connect to your file storage area on the server; click Next.

  6. Choose "No Certificate" from the Certificate Settings window and click Next.

  7. Type in your Directory ID and Password, click Next and Finish


  8. You will see the Webdrive E: window on your desktop.
  9. Now, you can drag your media files from your local computer to the media server as represented by the E: drive (or whatever drive you assigned in Step 3 above).
