Connect to a Media Server with Goliath

You can use the Goliath WebDAV client to connect to the Streaming Media and podcast.umd.edu servers in order to upload your media files. (Note: at this time, if you are storing files on podcast.umd.edu you will be provided with the correct URL to enter in the "New WebDAV Connection Window" by the server administrator when you request an account.) Once you have obtained the free Goliath software, follow these steps to connect.

  1. Launch Goliath.
  2. goliath loginProvide the following information in the New WebDAV Connection window:

    URL: type https://davwebhosting.umd.edu/streamingmedia/DIRID, where DIRID is your University Directory ID.

    User Name: enter your University Directory ID for authentication.

    Password: enter your University Directory password to complete the authentication process.
  3. Click on the OK button.
  4. You will see a window that represents your directory (or storage area) on the media server. Uploading files to it is as simple as dragging the file from its location on your local computer to the Goliath window.
