The Learning Technologies group provides weekly "How Do I" Q&A Webinars Series on specific features of the tools supported by the group in a Wimba Live Classroom environment during the Fall and Spring terms. The format includes demonstration of a tool, discussion about best practices for its use, and question and answer between the webinar presenter and participants.

Webinar FAQs

How does the webinar work? The Weekly Webinars are offered over the Internet and conducted in a Wimba Live Classroom environment during the Fall and Spring terms. Each webinar consists of a 10-minute demonstration of a tool followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. What are the basic technical requirements? A PC or Mac (OS X 10.2 or higher) computer with an Internet connection (56 kbps or higher, preferably a high-speed internet connection) Speakers or headphones connected to your computer, preferably a standard or USB headset. Both the presenter and the participants must turn their browser's Pop-up Blocker off and have the current version of Java installed on their computer. For PC users: please avoid using Firefox 3.0 or IE 8.0. (Note to Mac users: The Wimba classroom works best with the Safari browser.) Please run the Setup Wizard before attending the meeting for the first time. Where can I access the webinar? All ELMS instructors and TAs will get an email announcement for every webinar including the detailed log-in instructions. You can also enter each session from this page here on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Do I need to register for each webinar? No, you do not need to register for the webinar. Everybody is welcome. Please feel free to forward the webinar information to anybody you want. Will the sessions be recorded? Yes, we will archive every session. Each recorded session is available on-demand to review at your convenience. You can access the archived session from here.

Is your computer ready to attend the webinar? Please run the Setup Wizard before entering for the first time.

To participate in the webinar, you will need to have a computer with an Internet connection.

You will also need a speaker or headphone to hear the meeting and a microphone if you want to speak.

We suggest you to use either a standard or USB headset.
