| Audio | Video |
|---|---|
| .m4a,.mp3 and AAC files For best results during playback, consider converting MP3 files greater than 32 MB to AAC format. |
.mp4, .m4v or .mov (all with H.264 compression). Note that the .mov format does not play on most iPods or other portable devices. Mobile devices work best with MPEG-4 (.mp4, .m4v) with H.264 compression |

What is H.264 Compression?
H.264 produces high quality video compression at data rates 2-3 times lower than its predecessor (MPEG-2). It was produced by the Joint Video Team (JVT), a collaboration of the International Telecommunication Union and the International Organization for Standardization's Moving Picture Experts Group and is an open standard that is being integrated into many applications, such as QuickTime. See H.264 Frequently Asked Questions [2] for more information about the technology.
