The University of Maryland podcast.umd.edu server provides an alternative to iTunesU Academic and Wimba Podcaster for podcasting. Media files can be stored on the server and can be subscribed to by RSS Feed. The resource supports a variety of media formats, including .mp3, .mp4, and QuickTime movie. Storing such files on podcast.umd.edu and linking them into your ELMS course space or other Web-based environment minimizes the impact that such files have on the space quotas that may limit the development of those environments.

WebDAV client is required to transfer media files to the server. Information on how to upload files to podcast.umd.edu can be found below.
