The Learning Technologies group provides weekly "How Do I" Q&A Webinars Series on specific features of the tools supported by the group in a Wimba Live Classroom environment during the Fall and Spring terms. The format includes demonstration of a tool, discussion about best practices for its use, and question and answer between the webinar presenter and participants.
The Weekly Webinars are offered over the Internet and conducted in a Wimba Live Classroom environment during the Fall and Spring terms. Each webinar consists of a 10-minute demonstration of a tool followed by a 20-minute Q&A session.
A PC or Mac (OS X 10.2 or higher) computer with an Internet connection (56 kbps or higher, preferably a high-speed internet connection)
Speakers or headphones connected to your computer, preferably a standard or USB headset.
Both the presenter and the participants must turn their browser's Pop-up Blocker off and have the current version of Java[16] installed on their computer.
For PC users: please avoid using Firefox 3.0 or IE 8.0. (Note to Mac users: The Wimba classroom works best with the Safari browser.)
Please run the Setup Wizard[17] before attending the meeting for the first time.
All ELMS instructors and TAs will get an email announcement for every webinar including the detailed log-in instructions. You can also enter each session from this page here[1] on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
Yes, we will archive every session. Each recorded session is available on-demand to review at your convenience. You can access the archived session from the Webinar Archives page[18].
