A "podcast" is a method of publishing digital files to the Internet for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. Podcasts are often distributed around the Web via "RSS feeds" to which users can subscribe. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) [1] is a format for delivering media content that changes regularly on the Web. A podcast aggregator, [2] like iTunes, enables you to collect RSS feeds from numerous sites and display them in one place.
The OIT Learning Technologies group supports a variety of tools with which instructors can create and publish podcasts and vodcasts. This support includes free workshops offered through the Learning Technologies Institute (LTI), consultation, and "how to" documentation.
