Mobile Video in the Classroom
Three years ago, as part of UMD's mobility initiative, Professor Yaros began using mobile devices to teach video skills and assignments. This experimentation led to use of mobile video in his general education courses, such as the blended" Introduction to Mass Media" and the-Series course "Information 3.0." Students from all majors learn how to best utilize mobile video in researching and collecting information from experts in their fields. Students then incorporate the mobile video interviews into their "digital' ePortfolios," which they build during the semester.
Come learn about the apps used and the mobile video techniques taught by Dr. Yaros and see how mobile video can be used in virtually any discipline. Although not required, iPhone, iPod Touch or Android devices are welcomed.
All faculty and staff are welcome to join the discussion. This is a great opportunity for instructors to bring their ideas and questions to an open forum where we can discuss and learn from each other. No registration is required. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided
