How Do Students Access or Subscribe to Wimba Podcaster?

Print-friendlyPrint-friendly

Once you have created or imported a podcast, students can access it from the Wimba Podcaster list (via the Communications link or from a Wimba Podcaster link within a content area).

Students can click on a podcast link and listen to the podcast within the ELMS course space.

  1. Click on the desired podcast in the list of links.
  2. Click on the Play button in the podcaster player in the bottom half of the screen. If you provided descriptive information in the text box when you created or imported the podcast, the students will be able to read that content at this time.

Alternatively, students can click on one of the two subscription buttons in order to listen to the podcast in their podcatcher of choice.

  3. Click on the Subscribe button to automatically subscribe to this podcast in your default podcast aggregator (quite frequently this would be iTunes). OR,
  4. Click on the RSS Feed button, Copy the resulting feed: link, and then Paste it into your podcast application (e.g., Juice, jpodder, Mypodder) in the appropriate location.

Once a subscription is established between the Wimba Podcaster list and the podcatcher (via one podcast), students will be able to access other podcasts posted to the repository without logging into ELMS.
