I take it you enjoyed the show, Matt?
Posted by Marc Ruppel at August 12, 2004 12:50 PMSure did. Sold out show, I was about 10-15 feet back from the stage. Lots of songs from the new one, and also a lot of very early stuff. Here's the set list:
Golden Blue
Stones
Pattern Recognition
Unmade Bed
Eric's Trip
Burning Spear
New Hampshire
Schizophrenia ("This song is called Sister.")
Paper Cup Exit
Dude Ranch
Drunken Butterfly
Encores:
Rain on Tin
Pacific Coast Highway (Kim played trombone)
Expressway to Yr Skull
Yeah, Thurston introduced Schizophrenia as "Sister" at the Columbia, MO show, too. From your pic, it looks like they didn't have the retro/color-changing light gizmos behind the band and facing the audience the way they did at the show I saw. Or did they?
Posted by George at August 12, 2004 02:07 PMThey had five or six light boxes that changed colors and projected images; beyond that there were no special fx. I kept looking for the giant inflatable pig ;-)
