My graduate class was supposed to meet at the Folger this afternoon to take in the Technologies of Writing exhibition. But one of my students emailed me a couple of hours beforehand with a very scary report of a fire at the Library.
Fortunately the incident was contained and the damage was minor—but the building was closed all day. Best laid plans . . .
