Hello all,

I'm a senior by credits, sophomore by year with absolutely no idea what my major is. I'm taking this class because I want to declare an individual studies major based on my passion for the development of media and literature through the changes of technology.

Hi. I'm a print journalism major from Laurel, MD. I decided to take this class because I needed an upper level elective and this looked way more interesting than any of the other options. I remember reading the choose your own adventure books when I was in elementary school ... until I read the one where you are a race car driver. I made one choice that got me hit on the head with a wrench for some reason or another, and from then on I stuck to regular books.

Hey I'm a senior Economics major from Beltsville, MD. I was intrigued by the class description and liked that it wasn't your "normal" English course. Out of my upper level choices this seemed like the one worth taking.

I'm here at UMCP focusing on graphic design ... I'm also pretty interested in storytelling. Seems like there's a lot of possibilities involved with telling stories in a format this flexible. I'm also getting the multimedia technology citation.

The concentration of my major is creative writing and I want to explore different writing media other than the basic short story/novel format. I'm fascinated with the ways in which the meaning of text is influenced by visual aspects, be it through illustration, page layout, or even font type. That's why I want to study hypertext. I'm a graphic novel/comic reader as well. I currently read FABLES and Y:THE LAST MAN.

I'm a senior marketing major from a small town called Peterborough in New Hampshire. I decided to take this course because I've been involved with web design and writing for the web. The class seems like a fun way to explore that more and earn credit for my upper level electives at the same time.

I'm a third-year sophomore English major, concentrating in Language, writing and rhetoric. However, I have a deep interest in computer technology, and was admitted to UMD as a comp sci major.

I'm working on a ccertificate called Science, Technology, and Society and hoping this class will work for that.

I'm a Junior English major. I'm taking this class because I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with an English degree, and this is a different angle that sounded like fun.

I'm from Southern Maryland (St. Mary's County).

Hi everyone. I'm a senior English major on the creative writing track. I've had an interest in (and job working with) computers for a long time now; this class seemed to offer a quality perspective on how the two might be meshed.

Or something.

I'm a second year Architecture major from Baltimore, Maryland. I'm taking this course for the Multimedia and Technology Citation. However, I might have taken this course anyway because of my growing interest in computer graphics and my longtime fascination with the applications of technology in art.

Hello, I'm a junior computer science major from southern Maryland. I am possibly insterested in the Multimedia citation. I have prior web design experience, but am interested in looking at the web/technology from a new perspective to possibly broaden my narrow mindset.

I'm a communications major, I'm graduating in May, I'm taking this class in hopes to finish up some upper-level core (I figured it'd be an interesting course), I like music (especially when it's "free"), and I like pie (especially when it’s "free")…?

My name is Megan and I'm a senior English major from Germantown, MD. I started off as Comp Sci so the computer aspect of this class really interested me and it fulfills an upper level elective for me as well. I was happy to find out about the CYOA book project since I have a few of those books already.

Hey. My name is Adam. I am a senior planning on graduating this May. I started the first two years at school studying aerospace engineering but decided to switch majors when I realized the average career of an engineer is only 6 years. I am taking this course for upper level core, and becauue it sounds different than any other literature class I've taken.

Hi, I'm William. I'm a senior psychology major taking this class as an upper-elective.

Err...I'd say something funny to break the ice but, uh, I can't think of anything.

It's Noelle... I'm a third-year theatre major who does a great deal of poetry and play writing, and loved ENGL278W enough to want to expand on her knowledge of literature and the world wide web.

Hi, My name is Donald Chiarella. I am a senior English Literature major. This is my last semester at College Park, and hopefully the best as well. When I started out at UMD, I was planning on being a Bioloogy major, then I switched to Comp Sci, and then to Elementary Education. Somehow, I ended up in the English Department, where I have spent the past year trying to just graduate. This class looked like it would be a lot of fun, and fulfilled an upper level course requirement for me. It will also break up the monotony of having four other English classes.

Hey, my name is Andrew Voxakis. I am a senior English Major. I just became a commuter after living on campus for 3 1/2 years and got a couple new jobs. One of them is working for the Opinion Editiorial for the Diamondback. I'd Love to hear your comments on the articles so send me an email if you hated it, loved it, or think i should be shot.

I love to read and write (hence my English major) and I am a movie animal. Im hoping to pursue careers in fiction writing, photography, teaching, and directing/screenwriting. Im very indecisive... Hoping to enjoy this class. Seems like there are a lot of cool people.

My name is Ruben Gomez. I am a Junior Journalism Major.

I commute from Gaithersburg each day.

I chose this class because I love technology, the web and the merging of print with the computer.

I do some web design and web management, in my free time.

Last semester I interned as a Writing Center tutor. I also interned at MITH, where I worked on the MacGreevy Archive.

This semester I am working on a weekly radio news magazine that will begin airing on WMUC by February 27.
