The State of Baseball in Greenbelt

Though there were some disappointingly rainy days like the one above,
in
general Greenbelt thoroughly enjoyed it's baseball. First, they could
quickly and easily attend a major league game, with the added incentive
that it would likely never be sold out. If they chose not to attend they
were able to receive every game on the radio, with many games starting
in the late afternoon as the residents got off work. Many could also
receive broadcasts of the Baltimore Orioles minor league games, and a trip
up to Baltimore was not altogether unfeasible. First and foremost,
however, Greenbelt had thriving amateur or intramural baseball setting.
With numerous teams available to all ages and sexes, a Greenbelt resident
really had try to not get involved somehow. In a town that took physical
education and exercise very seriously, baseball played a vital role.
Though they enjoyed a great many sports, the residents of Greenbelt
enjoyed nothing better than a baseball game on summer night in the middle
of July, with everyone out to root on the locals.
