Pamphlet Passages

"To
Make Permanent Exhibits"
"Take a cardboard slide. Push out center cut. Now cut two pieces
of cellophane slightly larger than this center piece. Glue one piece over
the center hole. Turn the slide over, place the object in the compartment
thus formed and cover with the other piece of cellophane, gluing it on as
before. Be careful to get no glue in the compartment, on the object or on
that part of the cellophane which is directly above or below the
object."

"Accessories"
"GLASS SLIDES - For viewing transparent objects. Place the object
on a glass slide and the slide on the bridge of the microscope so that
light is reflected through it by the mirror underneath. Opaque objects
(things you can't see through) may also be examined on glass slides with
illumination from above. Delicate objects which might be blown off the
slide by air currents should be covered with another slide."

"FOC using"
"Move the brass tube down until the objective lens is directly over
but not quite touching the object. With the eye about an inch from the
eyepiece TURN the tube slowly upward until you reach the best point of
vision."
