Webster's New World Dictionary defines a holiday
as:
Americans celebrate so many holidays each year. Our
holidays consist
of three types:
1.) a religious festival; 2.) a day of freedom from
labor; day set aside for leisure and recreation; 3.) a day set aside by
law or custom for the suspension of business, usually in commemoration of
some event
1) holidays for which we DO
receive
an
official day off from work/school,
.
2) holidays for which we DO NOT recieve an
official day off from work/school,
3) holidays that fall on a Sunday
