Above is pictured a photo of a frieze which depicts a man on the right in overalls, shaking hands with a man on the left in a three piece suit. The man in the suit, seemingly a businessman, has his back to three people working at typewriters. The man on the right, presumedly a farmer by his clothing, has his hand on the businessman's shoulder, in the gesture of an affectionate handshake. Behind the farmer is a tree and another farmer setting down a large basket of produce. Below, the caption reads, "TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION."

Straus is doing more than conveying the image of friendship between classes. More importantly, the two men shaking hands are representing the concept of the unity between industry and agriculture.
