Greenbelt Townhouse
This closet is located on the service side of the townhouse and has three
shelves on the left side of the closet and the rest is open. The closet
is small but it accommodates the items very well. The closet has an
approximate volume of 46 cubic feet. The following items are
found in the closet.
| garbage cans | trash bags | kitty litter |
| lawn mower | brooms | mop |
| paint |
Mainly, the father used the closet unless the mother needed the mop or the children were old enough to take out the trash. Everything seemed to be authentic, except for the kitty liter, although, I think this is used by the museum in case of ice on the stairs. Additionally, I questioned the three brooms located in the closet. Did the family really use that many brooms outside? I was very impressed with this closet because it held the garbage cans. The tour guide explained that the garbage collectors would come up to the house and take the garbage out of the closet and put the cans back. Again this stresses the cleanliness of the community. I would love to have a closet to hide my garbage cans. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone with the pleasure of having an outside storage closet. Therefore, I have nothing to compare with this closet.
