On Tuesday, October 14th, we will brainstorm what should go in a time capsule representing life at the University of Maryland, College Park in 1997.
To prepare for that class exercise, please bring to class five suggestions for what should go in the time capsule.
The capsule can be as large as 6 feet by 6 feet storage locker. Only artifacts can be included. Your task is build a capsule that represents every aspect of campus life from every point of view.
Try to think in terms of "superartifacts". Can you include a suggestion for at least one artifact that really captures an essential part of University of Maryland life?
Remember the groundrules:
1. artifacts only
2. must fit in 6' x 6' space
3. choose artifacts to represent each group on campus
4. choose artifacts to represent key activities on campus
5. choose artifacts you think people 2000 years from now would be able to
interpret relatively accurately.
