Summary of the Show Roseanne and How It Relates To
Suburbia
Roseanne is a show
which was built on suburbia and its ideals. It is set in a suburban town
with a middle class family and three kids. Automatically suburbia is
present. Roseanne goes through all of the problems that suburbanites go
through such as money troubles, family problems, and the neighborhood's
interaction in general. This show has crossed many lines on many issues
in its existence to educate the suburban community that their lives
are not perfect and it is okay to show that. They bust through the facade
called suburbia to show issues of sex, homosexuality, family and marital
problems, and unemployment. I feel that this show is the best show yet to
illustrate what is and was really going on in suburbia in a truthful and
tasteful fashion using humor to keep it upbeat.
Now go to my second project, Roseanne as an
Illustration of Class and Family.
