The Greenbelt Athletic Clubs: Men's, Women's, and Children's

The Women's Athletic Group was founded in 1938 as an "informal class in physical training for women, which meets once each week during the winter" (Directory of Organizations). The group met in the community center building, and women engaged in such activities as volleyball, badminton, dance, and exercise. There was even a women's bowling league.
