Conclusions

Although Greenbelt was not very racially diverse, several different religions were represented within the town. Many religions had women's organizations as a part of their congregations. The Jewish community had the Women of B'nai B'rith, which was probably the most active during the war. The Women of B'nai B'rith organized the Greenbelt Cookie Jar, which was a jar holding seventy dozen cookies that was filled by many women of Greenbelt's various organizations and sent off to soldiers at area forts and bases (Williamson, 121). Other active religious organizations for women in Greenbelt were the Women's Guild of the Community Church, Our Lady of Sorrows Sodality, the Lutheran Women, and Ladies of Charity.

A Conference on Religious Life was held to inform Greenbelters of available religious organizations, like organizations for women
