AMST 205 Project One

BEDROOM ANALYSIS

For this project you are asked to analyze your own bedroom or sleeping arrangements. This can be at home, in the dorm, or your apartment.

With Fleming's model as a guide, discuss the history of the space and contents, materials they are made from, construction, design, and function.

Evaluate your bedroom or sleeping space. How does it compare with other bedrooms? What are its' aesthetic qualities?

Then do a cultural analysis of the space. What functions does it serve? What human behavior is associated with it?

How do you feel about this space or room? What meaning or significance does it have for you? How does your bedroom function as a vehicle of utility, delight, and communication?

Mount this project on a project1.html web page and be sure you have a local link to your home page. Pay attention to grammar and spelling. Also consider the design of the page, including any graphics or background color.

On Tuesday, October 1, we will discuss the projects in class so have a DRAFT ready to look at. The final project is due by class on Thursday, October 3.
