3858–3859. Evert Luykese Backer was born in The Netherlands on Tuesday, January 24, 1665. Janetje Emetje Volkertse was born in The Netherlands about 1624. They were married in The Netherlands in 1645. She took the name Janetje Emetje Backer. They had one child:

According to Passengers to New Netherlands by A.J.F. van Laer, Yearbook of the Holland Society of New York, 1902: "Jannetie Volckerse, wife of Evert Luykese, baker, and daughter, 12 years old" arrived in New Amsterdam on the ship "De Bruynvis" (The Brownfish) on June 16,1658.
