Basil Henry Beedle was born in _____ in—say—1900, and died in _____ _____. They were married in Marshall, Michigan, on Thursday, March 19, 1925. She took the name Ina Rae Beedle. She is the daughter of Walter Joshua and Primrose (Judson) Gilbert. He is the son of Henry and Stella (_____) Beedle. They had one child:

i. Stella Mae Beedle [#4BA]: She was born in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, on January 10, 1926, and died in Plainwell, Michigan, on April 17, 1999.

Ina Rae Gilbert graduated from Western Michigan Normal with a major in home economics. The 1926 Directory of Kalamazoo lists Basil as a salesman for the Elmer Richards Co. and residing at 729 Axtell Street with his wife, Ina, and his mother, Stella, who was listed as the widow of Henry Beedle. Stella is listed as the owner of the house. After Ina died, Basil and his daughter, Stella Mae, moved in with Ina's father, Walter Gilbert, on 942 Bellevue Place, Kalamazoo, near Western. Basil's mother sold the house on Axtell to Harry D. McClintic and moved to a house she purchased at 1343 N. Burdick St., Kalamazoo.

In 1931, Basil was still living with his in-laws on Bellevue Place. He was listed as being a salesman for the L. V. White Co. By 1937, Basil had married Ida E. Wood and they were living (renting) at 220 W. Cedar Street, Kalamazoo. He is listed as a personnel worker and she a nurse. By 1939 they had bought a home at 212 W. Walnut; he was an interviewer for the State Employment Service. By 1943, he was an assistant manager with the Michigan Employment Service Commission; they were still living on Walnut Street. By 1945, they moved to 315 Stuart Street, Kalamazoo; he was assistant manager for the USES (U.S. Employment Service?). In 1952 they were listed as living at, and owning, 744 Stuart Street; he was now a supervisor at the MESC.

A receipt from A. G. Burwell, M.D., for the birth of Ina shows a $6.00 charge for attending the birth and eight charges of $1.50 each for visits from January 8th thru 17th, 1904; total cost: $18.00.
