Henry Castle received a land grant in Fairfield on December 25, 1678. His wife, Abigail, received a legacy in 1667 from the will of Daniel Finch ("£7 to Henry Castle's wife"); his third wife was Mary, the widow of Thomas Dickerson. We can assume that she was his step-daughter and the daughter of Thomas Dickerson.
The first six children of Henry and Abigail were baptized together in Woodbury in September, 1686. Part of the confirmation that the mother of these children was, indeed, Abigail Dickerson, comes from the 1711 will of Mary, daughter of Roger and Elizabeth (Dickerson) Knapp, who referred to her as "aunt Casle".
Abigail took an oath to inventory her husband's estate; administration was
granted to their son, Henry. The ages of their children at that time were:
Henry 31, Samuel 29, Isaac 25, Abigail 22, Mary 20, Mercy 13, and William 10.
