Walter Gilbert Genealogy: Samuel Fairchild & Mary Wheeler

644–645. Samuel Fairchild was born in Stratford, Connecticut, on Monday, August 31, 1640, and died in Connecticut about 1704. Mary Wheeler was born in Stratford on Thursday, September 13, 1655. He is the son of Thomas and _____ (Seabrook) Fairchild. She is the daughter of Moses and _____ (_____) Wheeler. After Samuel died, Mary married Benjamin Beach on April 5, 1705. Her third marriage was to Thomas Yale on July 31, 1716; this was recorded in Wallingford. They had four children:

i.	Robert Fairchild was born in Connecticut in 1681.
ii.	Samuel Fairchild [#322]: He was born in Woodbury, Connecticut, in 1683.
iii.	Edward Fairchild was born in Connecticut.
iv.	Johathan Fairchild was born in Connecticut.

Samuel Fairchild testified in May 1701 at about the age of 60 that in younger days he was often at Knell's Island.

The inventory of his estate was dated 7 Mar. 1704/5. The distribution of his estate was ordered to his widow Mary, a double portion to his eldest son, two other sons to share alike.
